“Sanctus” is the song that started it all. It was the first song written for the first album.
I had tried other, more mainstream musical endeavors, but they didn’t go anywhere. Once I got confirmation that Gregorian Rock was what I should be doing, it propelled itself like nothing before it ever did.
This song captures the essence of what I am trying to do musically with all my songs now. It is both “serene, yet pummeling”, it half English and half Latin. It rocks, but in a thoughtful manner.
This was also my first attempt at making a music video, and only my second attempt at using a greenscreen. I had to learn some new software to pull it off, and that was just the beginning.
Several of the boys in the virtual band lent their acting talents to the show. Guys who actually played on the song AND performed in the video are Suro Lopez on drums, & Brandon Allen on bass. Matt Hill was the dancing monk, and Raul Reyes played the role of guitarist. A good time was had by all!
